What makes it VIP
The difference is the size of the group and the price that already covers everything. A regular speedboat can carry well over 30 people; here the limit is 16. The national park fee is paid by the operator, so you do not need cash for the ticket office.
Breakfast at Maenam Pier
After the hotel pickup you check in at Maenam Pier on the north coast of Koh Samui, have a light breakfast and get your snorkeling gear before the boat leaves at 08:30. The crossing takes about 45 minutes.
The Emerald Lake and the 42-island view
The morning starts at Talay Nai, the saltwater lake hidden inside Mae Ko island, then continues to Koh Wua Ta Lap, the park headquarters, where a trail climbs to the viewpoint over the archipelago. There is time to swim from the white beach afterwards.
Reef, kayaks and lunch
At Koh Wao you snorkel over the coral, at Koh Sam Sao you take a kayak along the coast, and lunch is a buffet on Koh Phaluai, one of the two inhabited islands of the park.
Song Pee Nong and the way back
The last stop is the secluded beach of Song Pee Nong. The boat leaves the park at 16:30 and you are back on Koh Samui at 17:30, often with the sunset on the way.
